Gold Tooth

Joint Compound, Screen, Paint, Wire, Mesh, String

18' x 2' x 12'

Installed at Oklahoma City Art Center. Gold Tooth spans the ages though textile references and modern materials. The tapestry's laid into the wall were created using a mud compound process that is regularly used to repair damaged drywall. The effect is a gridded topology that results on the back of a wall, naturally not seen in a repair. The seam between the tapestries and wall has been made obsolete. An image of line and pattern hovers in front by a tensioned network of wire and string. Photos: Genevieve Huba
